A number of scientific publications have researched and noted a wide range of possible therapeutic effects of cannabidiol on several conditions, including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, cerebral ischemia, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, other inflammatory diseases, nausea and cancer due to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
CBD is considered a drug with multiple mechanisms of action because it antagonizes the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system, stimulates the vanilloid receptors associated with relieving inflammation, acts as an agonist at the human 5-HT1A receptor related to ischemia, decreases the uptake of adenosine decreasing inflammation, and prevents hydroperoxide-induced oxidative damage.
Research has suggested that cannabis sativa contains antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory qualities which relaxes muscles and has shown to be an effective treatment with or without conventional medicine by improving seizure control, increasing alertness, improving verbal communications, bettering social interaction, and bettering their overall mood and quality of life. Cannabis oils that are rich and have a higher milligram content of cannabidiol (CBD), are the preferred method for treatment.
CBD provides an amplitude of alpha waves in both brain regions which could change the chemical makeup in a lot of neurological disorders, such as addiction, bipolar disorder, psychosis, anxiety, and depression, this can not only get patients off of harsh drugs, but help improve emotional responses; this notion gives an indication that administration of CBD can change the medical industry. Consistency in alpha waves as well as maintaining a pleasant mood might help with insomnia and other sleep issues. Also, CBD attenuates brain damage associated with neurodegenerative and/or ischemic conditions by affecting synaptic plasticity and facilitating neurogenesis through the CB1 and CB2 receptors and reducing oxidative stress in the nervous system.
